Within the framework of the FILMLINK project, an international seminar will take place in Tartu, focusing on the development of regional film regions, cooperation, and best practices. The seminar brings together representatives of film fund, film commissions and film communities from Estonia, Latvia (Liepāja), Lithuania (Vilnius), Finland (Tampere), and Germany (Chemnitz).

The aim of the seminar is to share experiences and knowledge on how to consciously develop a film-friendly region, connect the audiovisual sector with local authorities, education, and the creative industries, and strengthen international cooperation.

Programme

  • Tartu Film Fund – 10 years of developing a film-friendly region
  • Liepāja 2027 – developing a film region in the context of the European Capital of Culture
  • Vilnius Film Office – the Vilnius film industry ecosystem and the role of the city
  • Film Tampere – collaboration between film and gaming from a regional perspective
  • Schlingel International Film Festival – working with young audiences and film education

The day will conclude with a moderated discussion, followed by an informal networking and social gathering in the evening.

Target audience

Film fund and film commission professionals, representatives of local authorities, specialists in the creative industries and education, and developers of the audiovisual sector.
