Objective: The project aims to strengthen cooperation between the Tartu and Liepāja Film Funds, enhance mutual trust, and develop the skills needed to support cross-border collaboration and the growth of regional film communities. The focus is on training key professionals involved in the film funds’ activities, exchanging knowledge, and developing joint tools for advancing the film sector in both regions.

Activities:

1) Two cross-border study visits with seminars in Tartu and Liepāja to share experiences and develop joint cooperation strategies.
2) A two-day online training course for staff of the Tartu and Liepāja Film Funds to improve professional skills.
3) Impact analysis of supported films: 2–4 film projects will be selected to jointly evaluate their economic, cultural, and social impact on the regions based on agreed criteria.

Outcomes:

1) A functioning network between the Tartu and Liepāja Film Funds will be established.
2) The professional competence and cooperation capacity of film fund staff will increase.
3) A new impact assessment framework will be developed for evaluating the economic and social effects of film productions.
4) The foundations will be laid for sustainable cross-border cooperation in the film sector.

Objective: International location managers seminar

Activities:

Over two days, Location Session Tartu brought together Estonian and international location & production professionals and regional film funds & public office representatives. A FAM Tour of Tartu exploring the hidden and not-so-hidden gems of this historic regional capital with an evening networking event on one day and a versatile seminar consisting of case studies, success stories and panel on the second. The goal was to bring together film professionals to establish new and nurture existing relationships among each other, but also to meet the people who a film professional turns to first when scouting or already prepping a new location. We explored the dynamic world of film production and how it interacts with the local community and government regulations. With experienced location managers and film commissioners from the UK, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland, we did delve into key topics to help you navigate the intricacies of location-based filming and foster lasting positive relationships.
