On January 30–31, the demo area of the Tartu Centre for Creative Industries was opened at the sTARTUp Day festival, where this year we focused on the film sector. Through the activities of the Tartu Film Fund, we showcased various film-related companies, providing an overview of how art, technology, and entrepreneurship can complement each other. Additionally, we discussed the diverse career opportunities and collaboration networks that the film industry can offer, opening doors to new ideas and innovation.
At the demo area, it was possible to see the alien KIP from Moonika Siimets’s new feature film Black Hole. The creators of KIP hosted a seminar on the process of creating Estonia’s first film monster. Director Anna Hints talked at the main stage, and makeup artists Gristina Pahmann and Iris Müntel presented to reveal the behind-the-scenes magic of film makeup.
