Ilmjärve Orthodox Church

The first Orthodox church in Ilmjärve was built in 1848, but the wooden building soon became too small for the congregation, and a new one was designed to replace it (by Riga architect Jānis Frīdrihs Baumanis). The cruciform church, made of stone and brick with five towers, was built in 1873 on the land of Ilmjärve Crown Manor. The church has two large bells, gifted by Emperor Alexander II.
