Tartu Railway Station

Tartu railway station was built in 1876 outside the city limits, and it was reached via Maarjamõisa Street, which was lined with trees. The station’s main building consists of three sections and was constructed according to a standard façade design, featuring a cross-gabled roof. Next to it were warehouses, platforms, a depot, a water tower, and two residential houses for railway employees.

In the 2000s, the building was gradually restored, with the restoration led by architect Aivar Roosaar. In 2012, the building was reopened to passengers. Today, the station building also houses Café Wedur, delighting visitors.
